This weekend I'm planning on shooting a local rimfire match that goes from 50-200yds. IIRC the COF is 10 plates with a 2min time limit at each distance. I'm probably going to shoot my 40X that has a 10X Super Sniper for optics.

I've got dope on the rifle out to 100M due to using the rifle in a safari silhouette match. I don't have access to more then 100yds at the clubs I have a membership though. I tried searching w/the Google search engine and about all I found was roughly 27 minutes should get me to 200. Am I reading that right or misunderstanding? From my 100yd, anybody got a rough idea on how much more elevation I'll need for 150 and 200? I've got some Federal Ultra Match that the rifle really likes but can't remember the fps right off hand. I'm hoping the SS has enough elevation to get me there since I have a 0 MOA base. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I don't want to spend the whole practice session chasing the plates.
Thanks

About half way down there is an imbedded drop table calculated with JBM Ballistics Calc:

50yds = 0
75yds = 3.3 MOA
100yds= 7.3 MOA
125yds= 11.6 MOA
150yds= 16.3 MOA
175yds= 21.3 MOA
200yds= 26.3 MOA

It's a reasonably close drop table. Although for my rifle I've found I required LESS than the chart calls for. If you SS lacks enough elevation adjustment look into either a canted base or a set of Burris Z-rings with the inserts.

Enjoy the match! Tactical rimfire is an absolute good time for a fraction of the cost.

I don't know where my drop charts are but mine match up very closely to the one made by DesertFrog in the link above. Funny, I know exactly what link it is and remember the guy's name who wrote it without even looking at the link... Can you tell I've read that article before??

Also, don't worry about elevation on your SS10x. They have a TON of elevation (120 MOA IIRC). I have enough to get me out to 600 W/O using the reticle

Good luck at the match!

Re: 150/200yd question

Thanks for the replies. I would have responded sooner but learned on of my oldest friends died Friday night and have been busy for the last few days.

Now I just have to decide which rifle to use. With the time limit I'm not sure I want to deal with the single shot 40X. I've got a 10/22 build that's a laser... it might be a good choice too.

Re: 150/200yd question

The match was a lot of fun. I went 10/10 at 50,75, & 100. At 150 I was ringing the spotter but when the shots for score came up I misjudged the wind and hit 4/10. Moved to 200 and hit 7/10. All in all for my first time with a rimfire past 100yds I wasn't too disappointed with a 41/50. Looking forward to next month!

Glad you had a great time and congrats on the excellent score! Just be forewarned though that this rimfire "hobby" can become a little addicting, and if you are not careful all consuming.

This is so true! If I didn't have friends that mainly shoot centerfire, I wouldn't really have any reason to be saving up for one. I would just replace my Savage with an Anschutz

Addicting is an understatement...

Re: 150/200yd question

haha... Believe me, I know how addicting the RF stuff can be. I'm just glad the 40X I got from the CMP shoots as good as it does or I'd really be spending some cash.

At least the ammo is cheap. Even match ammo isn't too bad when compared to center fire. I wonder if I can get .22 dies for my 650
