I was going to try it anyway. Just wanted to see if anyone else had done it before. My short brl DPMS only gets me 2595 fps with a 155gr, so it goes subsonic at about 850-900yd, so I'll find out one way or the other.

It has the same boat tail angle as a 168gr Sierra and the 180gr Sierra, so based on BT angle I would say not. However it has a different nose profile so it may. Please post what you find as I've been curious for some time about it and the other Amax's.

It's a 16" brl.
When I get a chance, I'm going to give it a try @ 1250 when I take my 300WM out again.(assuming I have enough elevation for it) As for the other A Max, I only have experience with the 208, & I know for a fact that it makes the transition well. I have taken it out to 2000yd a few times with my 300WM @ 2950 fps.
I'll let you all know. Maybe this weekend if the weather holds up.
