I'm already looking at either cutting my barrel and rebarreling to bring down the overall length. I'm shooting this thing below and want to reduce the overall length...but the barrel isn't even broken in. The shorter barrel will server me better as a suppressor host for the subsonics. I can't find a reputable barrel maker that has barrels in stock...or a 6 month wait. I know I'll lose velocity on the supersonic rounds and I'm not concerned about that due to the ranges I'm shooting. Looking for recommendations for an accurate 16" barrel for the Savage short action or smith (I've used ADCO in the past with good results) to reduce the factory barrel to length and continue to shoot it.

Accurate Ordnance does all my work for me. They do really great work and they are only about 10 minutes from my house. Even if they were not so close. They still would be who I send all my work to.

Call Kevin Rayhill at Stockade stocks, he'll get you a Benchmark Barrel threaded and cut down how you want it had his turn around time is pretty short, at the most two months.

I just pushed an email to accurate ordnance as they're "up the street" from me. We'll see what they can do. Thank you.
