I currently shoot 168gr amax's. Ive heard they are good to go for deer/antelope. Should I go bigger for elk? If so, berger hunting VLD in 190, 210. Alot of the ballistic info I have says the 168 @2700fps have more kinetic that the 190 @2500. The gun in Rem 700 in .308.

Never shot an elk with a Berger, but have shot plenty of them with accubonds and partitions. I'm sure you'd be ok with either as long as you put them in the right spot, but elk are big tough critters. Especially mature bulls. I've seen them take a lot of lead.

With elk I suggest keep on shootin till it's DOWN.
