17 HMR Scope?

I apologize in advance for this thread, but I figured I'd still ask lol.

The price was right so I recently picked up a Savage 93R17 heavy barrel. I've bedded it, polished up the trigger and tweaked the magazines already. Now I just need a scope and am looking for recommendations. This will mostly be a budget practice rifle with some varmint shooting thrown in. What would be recommendations for a scope?

Required:
Mil turrets
30mm tube
Tracking
Return & hold zero

Wants:
Mil sub tensions (elevation more important, but would like wind too)
Illuminated reticle
Variable power with max between 12 and 16x

Price range: ~$300

Athlon Talos BTR 4x14x44 would be sweet. For a little more you could go Athlon Argos BTR 6x24x50 or one of the new primary arms with a Mil reticle.

Curious on what you ended up with. While I'm saving up and doing some savings towards my 6.5 build and figuring what it will consist of I was going to turn my Savage (same model as yours with same mods) into my trainer.

For that Price go Athlon Talos BTR, or try and find a used Primary Arms Rgrid (they don't make them anymore but new stuff coming out) if your cool with a mil dot reticle they have some nice options with mil turrets in FFP also.

On RFC, the Mueller scopes have a great reputation for a lower cost optic with lots of features and clarity. I'm not sure how well they will hold up if you're turning knobs a lot though...

I wound up going with the Primary Arms. It's worked out great so far.
