178gr AMAX's in a 1/12 twist bbl(.308)?

I have a line on some 178gr AMAX bullets and was wondering if anyone has exp with them. I"m looking to shoot them through my FNH PBR with a 1/12 twist rate. Are the 178's too heavy?

Drive them fast and have a ball. They work well.

They will work I run them in a 1/12 twist LTR.

Update: Bullets shot pretty good. I've worked my way through the majority of the first box playing with dif loads. The best so far is as follows:

178gr AMAX
42gr Var
COAL 2.830
Win x4 Brass
Win prime

Pretty straight foreword load, I'm playing around with COAL mostly to find out what works best. I'm shooting at 100yds for now but am going to move it out to 300yds this weekend. If anyone had any input on successful COAL I would appreciate it.
