Finally finished up this rifle, for now.
Savage 10FCP .308 cut to 18"
Vortex Viper
NF rings and base
XLR Chassis
TBAC 30P-1

5 shots at 200yrds, shoots a little tighter when I'm doing good but this was the only target at the house. Can't wait to take it out to 1000 at the end of the month.

Re: 18" Savage in XLR chassis

Nice man Im hoping to rebarrel my Savage 10 FCP .308 to 6.5x47 Lapua soon. Debating between the long wait for a Bartlein or going with a Shilen being they are somewhat close to me. How do you like you XLR. For the money its very hard to beat. I havea AICS on my 5R 300 wm and chassis' have started growing on me.

DirtyHarry2029,

That is one sweet looking rig! Nice shooting.

Re: 18" Savage in XLR chassis

Love the XLR. The only problem I had was my fault tightening a couple screws too much after making my adjustments. Kyle replaced the part I stripped and sent better screws no charge.

Is your savage barrel worn out? I thought of a rebarrel but just cut it to 18" with the factory barrel.

You should check here http://www.grizzly.com/products/category/365000 regularly. Currently have 6.5's in stock depending on the specifics you are looking for.

Re: 18" Savage in XLR chassis

You've listed out almost the exact same rifle I'm currently building out (the .308 in my sig). I'm keeping the 24" barrel on mine (I got the one with the 5R rifling and threaded) and went with CDI bottom metal instead of a new chassis. I'm about to order a TBAC 30BA for mine. Otherwise same optics, rings, and base. Glad to see others have the same idea for this action

If Grizzly has a barrel bigger in contour than what you need you can send it to us and for $40 and s&h back to you we can recontour it for you. Turn around time on a recontour is about 2 weeks.
