So I've run across some .308 FGMM with the 185 Juggernaut bullet that I'm thinking I might run through my 20" ,308 AR. Historically I've shot the 175SMK with great results.

Curious if any of you have any experience running the FGMM 185 juggernaut load through a 20" AR? What kind of performance did you experience? Any one handloading the 185 juggernaut for use in a 20" .308 AR?

Looking for info on what kind of accuracy you're getting, velocity, is long range performance as good as it looks on paper?

Thanks

What's the twist on the barrel? Federal GMM with Berger 185's shoot great out an M110 I built (for sale on GunBroker currently). Barrel is a Criterion match 20" 1-11 twist.

@Xcount & @buffalowinter thank you! Y'all have given me the confirmation I needed to try out the 185 juggernaut in my gas gun. I plan to shoot some of the FGMM first and then work up a load with IMR4064 when I can find bullets in stock. Regarding barrel twist rate, I'm not totally sure but given it's an old M110 profile barrel I believe it's 1/11.25".

185 Juggs and Varget shoots approx 1 MOA out of my AR10. 2480 fps 18” 1:10
I don’t have any factory FGMM data from it but here’s some from a 24” 1:10 bolt gun.

I need in on that recipe... 20, 22, 24" barrel? I love 185 jugs...

Also love loading 220gn SMKs in 308 for fun... 2400ft/sec in a bolt gun, and chuck them out to a mile
My experience with an Armalite NM ar10 was wih 168 hybrids running HOT. 45gr of H4895 or 49.4 grains of MR2000. The only thing that keeps them safe is the long length to the lands and single loading. I was able to shoot my HM card over a palma match with it. I was only down three when I got to 1000. So took a little beating from the wind.
I wasn’t shooting very much then so felt that was solid effort. A 168 hybrid going 2825 is about the same as a Palma rifle setup so it’s capable of posting a 450. Making the Palma 20 was a goal until the shoulder went south.

I got my Palma pin shooting an M14. It wasn't easy.

I bought a Paramount bolt rifle and was overwhelmed by the adjustability from stock to iron sights. Came to the realization it was too much like work and sold it with lots of accessories and Lapua brass.
