Hey guys, I am looking for some advice on rebarreling a 1903 A3. Right now it’s been Sported and is not in original condition. I want to rebarrel it have it camber in 30-06 with a heavy target barrel as I want to take it to a mile using a 178-180gr bullets. Yes I know there are other caliber that can do it better. But I want to do it with the original caliber that the 1903 A3 was in. I have emailed a local gun smith as I am sure I will need one to turn the action to match the barrel blank and have one chamber the barrel. Advice on barrels,twist and 4 grove or 5 grove. This is new to me.
