My neighbor's dad passed this 40X down to him when he passed in the early 70s. Back in the day, the school here had bullet traps for 4H shooting comps in the gym, and that was its use. It's only been used a few times in 40 years, and my neighbor was thinking of selling this to somebody who will actually use it if it's worth some decent money (I've seen values from ~400 to well over 1k). The S/N is 0554; some searching showed much higher numbers made in the late 50s, so I figure it was 1950s itself.. The scope's vertical crosshair is severely bowed. Single shot. Wide trigger, very light. Bbl contour appears to be a heavy straight taper. Caliper pic is at the muzzle. Let me know if you need more info.
