Today was the first day of turkey season here in pa. Took a good friend with me as he has never shot a bird before. He's a vet that put in his 20yrs and was able to walk away.
Anyway way, we get set up half hour before sun up and wait. Right at sun up the entire valley below us erupted with gobblers. Started calling and three birds start coming up the hill right to us. I got two jakes 15yds from me in the decoys and a long beard lagging behind. I get that big boy to gobble 20yds in front of my buddy, I think that got him nervous. Then the fun started BOOM!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw that long beard flying away. He missed him all three times at 20yds. Now, do I ever let him forget it? All in all we had a great morning out hunting had birds gobbling all morning. That's why they call it hunting and not shooting.
