I'm currently building two AR platform rifles, an AR-308 pattern in 6.5 creed and an SBR AR-15 lower with three uppers. Finally decided which trigger system I'm going to go with and settled on the CMC flat 2-stage. The creedmoor, being a medium to long range precision rig will be getting the 2/2 model, but I'm thinking given the intended use of the SBR that a slightly heavier pull weight might be more appropriate.

The uppers for the SBR include a 12.5" 6.5 Grendel that'll be used for deer/hogs at short to medium distances, a 6.25" 300 Blackout mostly just for dicking around and maybe some short range subsonic hunting and a 4.5" 22lr I built for cheap practice and for my 7 year old to learn on. The CMC triggers all have a 2lb first stage with the option of a second stage in 2lb, 3lb, 4lb or 5lb. Any suggestions on what pull weight would be best suited for this particular application?

Stag Arms 2-Stage Match Trigger, 2/3.5lb; $109.99 I have been using this trigger which comes as the standard installed trigger on my Stag Arms Model 6 Super Varminter for the past 5-6 years. IMHO, It's both precise, and safer, especially for a younger shooter.

I might also suggest the Stag 6 itself, which can be acquired as a kit, lacking only a stripped lower, listing at $644.99, including the Stag 2-Stage Match Trigger. I purchased mine during their Labor Day Sale (yes it's a second Model 6 for me, the first has been handed down to my 20 Y/O Granddaughter) for $562 including shipping. Basically, the $100 discount will completely pay for the stripped Stag Lower.

I suggest this because I really do believe that having that second rifle, and second AR15 lower will increase the utility of your AR's and reduce conflicts when both you and your young man shoot together. The Kit features a factory completed Upper and BCG in a configuration that I have found to be truly impeccable as an MR/600yd F T/R implement. Our Granddaughter has used hers in National MR/600yd F T/R Competition. It is truly up for the challenge.

I usually don't let barrel length dictate my trigger weight. I built an SBR with a Noveske Crusader (12.5") barrel with the intention of it being a "one gun does almost all" rifle. I have the Geissele Hi Speed NM trigger on it set to about avg 2# 0.3 oz total weight and can shoot it fast or slow without any issues.
Since you're debating, why don't you just split the middle and get something in the 3-4# total weight range? It'll serve your purpose well. I know many people that use the Geissele SSA-E for their precision and run and gun builds.

Same.here. I run flat triggers on both my SBR's and Precision guns. I don't like a 2 stage on my SBR's, 2 gun rifles. I run the Geissele SD3G and I fucking love that trigger. On my long distance AR15 and large frame 6.5cm I run the Geissele SD-E

I love the trigger tech 2 stage.

I wasn't aware the triggertech had the option of a flat bow. I thought i was dead set on the CMC, but I just watched some video reviews on the triggertech and the adjustable model looks like it may fit this build perfectly. Thank you.

The G2S and it's up scale US Military approved brother - the SSA would be the ones Geissele recommends for any role that requires a little built-in anti-stress safety. Those triggers would seem to be the type of set-up that would be appropriate for an SBR. Up close shooting of any kind may involve a higher stress level and need more of a margin of safety. I believe they have a 2lb/2.5lb (for a total of 4.5lb) trigger pull weight.

The pull weight of the SSA seems like it would be ideal for the OP. So either the CMC 2/2 or 2/3 would work if it was me.
