20" .260 1/8 rock barrel too short?

No basketball career for you.

What do you want to do with the rifle? Shooting 600 in, hardly losing anything, past that a little more speed may help cheat the wind and drop just enough to get a hit. I'd guess typically you're losing 150 fps, maybe 100 fps if you went 22".

So, what do you want to do with the rifle?

Here is Lowlight shooting 1,000 with a .308 at 18". The .260 has a little more pep then the 308 so other then a 100 fps of MV not much.

WINNER. All of you...service, set, spike!

Haha..yeah. It's on an AIAW, and just trying to decide if i want to go from a 24" .308 to a 20" .260 before a match...I'm cozy with the .308 and have a ton of ammo loaded, but have heard (and witnessed) the advantages of a .260's BC and trajectory...just want to make sure I can get the advantage with a shorter stick.

Thanks for the responses...I'll end up trying it, but the LL video helped to reinforce the effort.

You'll have to add a few clicks of elevation at the far targets and really have no loss of accuracy on any normal size target you'll run into at a match or hunting. We've been doing 1000 yards for over two years now at matches with 15" barrels so don't let the short barrels scare you away. They will shoot.
