The rifle
The rifle is a pre-64 Win M70 with used 34 ounce Pac-Nor 22" barrel, used 28 ounce Bordon Rimrock laminated camo stock, Leupold VXI 2x7x33 scope, Harris HBRS bi-pod, Butler Creek stretch sling, and Stoney Point target knob on elevation.
The load
The load is 50 gr of canister IMR4895, 130 gr Nosler ballistic tip moly coated, 3.34" OAL, 2900 fps at muzzle.
At 50,000 psi and 85% fill ratio, this load could be much hotter.
Zero'd at 200 yards using ballistics from Quickload:
*at 300 yards, shoots 7.2" low [2.29 moa], 7.3" cross deflection in 10mph cross wind, 2347 fps terminal velocity
*at 400 yards, shoots 21.5" low [5.12 moa], 13.7" cross deflection in 10 mph wind, 2054 fps terminal velocity
*at 500 yards, shoots 43.6" low [8.32 moa], 22" cross deflection in 10 mph wind, 1871 fps terminal velocity

The binoculars: Minox HG 8x33 BR ASPH
The vehicle: Honda Element 4WD
The tires: LT235/70R-16 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM C
The inner sleeping bag: Cabelas -20 degree mummy
*Mule doe 350 yards, doe was looking into an 8 mph wind. I aimed at front 1/3 of animal and bullet stuck high and in the middle. Kidney shot. It was bang- flop.
*Mule doe 400 yards looking down wind. I aimed for front 1/3 of animal and missed. Fired second shot at center of animal. Bullet struck low and to the front. Heart shot. Animal ran 50 feet at high speed.
*Mule buck 1x2, double lung shot, 350 yards. No wind. It was bang flop.
*Mule buck 3x4, double lung shot at 350 yards. No wind, ran 50 feet.
*Mule doe shot at 510 yards. No wind, knocked upside down, but had to follow the blood trail.
*Mule doe, head shot, 350 yards.
