Hunting & Fishing 2017 Is looking good

Lookin forward to the stories...... Yours are always great to read.
just saw I got mine. Elk and deer same season with a friend I have been trying to hunt with for 4 yrs.
also will OTC tag elk and maybe a leftover for private land. I will only take one elk as its just my daughter and I and I like increasing the amount of hunting time I get. I can even refund my rifle tag if I score with archery season.

just saw that the state pulled two deer tags worth of money out of my account. Jr. and I are off to a good start! Can't wait to see about Wyoming, as well as the antlerless tags.
Good for you bro, missed all of my draws in NM and Utah with 16 PP for premium deer and elk, 12 ppt for both sheep, 10 for moose and goat.. Oh well, there's still next year...

I feel pretty lucky honestly, and after last year being so good, I dont know how this year could live up to it. We got a big 5 point bull, my Dad shot another antelope, I got a cow elk, and my son shot both his first mulie buck, and his first elk. This year is already off to a good start though, in the next few weeks we'll be finding out if we'll get any more tags.

My card just got hit for 50$ for the Utah antlerless draw. That means that either me or junior has got a cow tag (same unit as last year), my brother got one too. And wyoming kept 50 some odd dollars of my money, which means there is a speed goat tag in my future as well! So excited I can hardly wait!
So far for my party, we have 4 utah buck tags, at least 2 cow elk tags, and a speed goat.

I actually drew a hard to get Wyoming desert muley tag again this year, I hunted this big dude the entire season, but had to settle for his smaller offspring on my last evening. The old boy simply went nocturnal as soon as season opened. I know the area much better now and hope to get a crack at him this year.

He is a beast! Had I been an archer the day of that photo, he would be on my wall. Wyoming allows archery a month prior to rifle opening in unit that you draw (in most cases). For that reason this year I will be scouting with a crossbow; which is apparently offensive to some of the archers on SH; but if I can take that beast with a 440 fps crossbow I will be quite pleased. If not, I shall once more hunt the entire rifle season for that pig.

The "kid" with my wife the following morning from last year

The one on the wall is a high mountain muley is from '15, but a completely different general season unit just SW of my house
