2017 Mason Dixon Sniper Series PA/MD
01/02/2017 Last edited Wednesday at 5:41 AM by FTRinPA
Please note: The registration process has been changed. See below.
Welcome to the 2017 Mason Dixon Sniper Series.
The 2017 Mason Dixon Sniper Series will consist of eight matches and a finale. Three matches will be held at the Mayberry Game Protective Association in Westminster MD, four matches at the New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club in Gap PA, and one match at the University Rifle Club in Reading, PA. The finale will be held at NHRPC.
Each match will present a unique and challenging course of fire including steel, paper, and moving targets, and some physical challenges and various props. Mayberry's range offers targets out to 600 yards, NHRPC to 700 yards, University to 600 yards. All ranges are limited to calibers up to the 300 Magnums and a velocity of 3150 fps.
There will be 3 shooting divisions: Open, DMR, and Production.
-Production-rifle and optics meeting the requirements set forth by the PRS rules (www.precisionrifleseries.com)
-DMR-semi-auto rifle chambered in 223/5.56
-Open-all the rest
Matches are scored on a curved scoring model. Series points will be determined by dividing your score for the match by the match winner's score. We will use each shooter’s 3 best scores to determine eligibility for the finale, with at least one score coming from Mayberry and NHRPC (shooting the match at University is NOT a requirement). The final standings for the series will be the total of your 3 best match scores and the finale score. You must compete in the finale to be eligible for series awards.
To qualify for the finale, a shooter must meet one of the following criteria.
1. Win a match
2. Finish the season in the top 20 of the Open division
3. Finish the season in the top 50% of the DMR or Production divisions
Qualifying matches will be open to 30-40 competitors with a match fee of $30-50 per match. Each match will have its own posting in the Local Match section of Sniper’s Hide. Registration will open at 8pm on the Sunday 4 weeks prior to the match, with a notice being posted 2-3 days earlier. The registration post will give match details and a specific date & time for the match. All matches will be first come, first served.
Series dates:
Apr 2 Mayberry
Apr 30 NHRPC
May 28 NHRPC
Jun 4 Mayberry
Jul 2 NHRPC
Jul 30 University
Aug 6 Mayberry
Aug 27 NHRPC
Sep 10 Finale at NHRPC

University is a great venue and you guys will like it. They have a pit a 300Y for some active target stages, a 20' shooting tower, a giant rooftop simulator and loads of other props in the works.
We are also running a DMR/RECCE series between NH and there.
Here's a video of one of those matches from last year to give you a quick look.

I'll also be your match director for the finals. ;-)

what is the benefit of becoming a prs sanctioned shoot? Does it change anything for the club or members that shoot the events?
All i can see is that it would cost $5 per shooter that goes to PRS, what does that gain us as a shooter/match director/club member.
Thanks
