It probably was the same tag. We were looking for a big herd someone told us about and got into 8 or 9 and took 3 cows out of that bunch. My buddy is the one that really wanted a 1K+ kill. I let him shoot first and he missed. So I shot and killed that calf. They ran off and we went after them. Got within 250yds the next time and my buddy and dad both shot theirs.

How did the Grendel do? I’ve got bigger options for hunting but they’re a lot heavier rifles than my Grendel. Wanting it to be my main hunting rifle.

Shot the doe at about 125 yards through the shoulder. Had to make a quick shot and the rest wasn't stable. The sights were drifting upward and it was either shoot or pass. Took her high in the shoulder and she dropped like the rug had been pulled out from underneath her.

The hog was quartered facing me and I put the shot into the inside edge of the right eye. The bullet came out next to the ear on the back of the skull.
No chance for her to go anywhere. 35 yards.

The ammo was Hornady Black 123 ELDM.

The rifle has about 75 rounds through it and the groups keep tightening up. Of all the CZ 527's I own, this is the worst shooter at about an inch.
It's also the only one I haven't done any load development for, yet...

The Grendel pretty much duplicates the performance of the 250 Savage, which is no slouch.
A 100gr Ballistic tip at 2750 from the Grendel vs 100gr out of the 250 at 2825 isn't much different.

The 250 Savage has the advantage with the 120gr class bullets.

Remember, the 243 shoots a 100gr bullet at 2900 fps.

You won't have any issues with the Grendel at 300. If you want to shoot further than that for deer and hogs, just make sure you know your dope.

The Fox was not standing broad, but at an angle, so he got partially gutted.
At 0dark-hundred i have two aiming points. Center mass and high mass, depending on distance. At all my hunting spots I made terrain-drawings with distance marks, so I know the range accurately enough without a laser. It saves time with a target of opportunity like a fox.

I’m from that are. We use to hunt Thurmond Chatham game lands some when I was growing up. I never killed one but saw plenty and had a blast with my dad and cousin camping.
Nice Ya I'm from fayetteville but I have family up there. Probably my favorite place in the world man. People are nice to Iv spotted deer on peoples land knocked on their door told them I was an army sniper showed them my ID offered to share meat an they usually don't mind me taking one or 2
