Man, wish I could've gone but I just barely got into this rimfire game a few weeks ago and didn't feel prepared enough to make the trip. Throw up some pictures of props/COF if possible! I'd love to know what the shooting is like there. Thanks for the update!

I'm sure there will be videos up on the youtubes, might take a few days after people get home and unwind.

A couple good channels I follow:

Since I’m a gear whore and this is an Internet forum, I’d love to know the action, barrel, ammo and scope for the shooters. Trigger, chassis, and bipod would be tangential.
There was an RO asking us and writing down what action, stock, trigger, scope, and tuner/no tuner at one of the stages on day two. I think he was keeping our information from squads 1 and 2 separate and lumping the rest together.

I follow those channels as well. I am not much of a YouTube guy but they do have some interesting content. And they just seem like regular guys. Can’t wait to see some match footage. If you find any please post them here.

I didn’t take a single damn video or picture but made it in one lol. Also Shooting USA was filming all weekend so it should be on the outdoors channel at point I assume.

IY6C posted two videos, here's the first one:
I‘ve only done a couple of PRS style matches, on Day 1 on the second stage(?) around 6:00 shooting off the wooden structure (before the helo stage)- how would you decide between shooting off that bag support, versus using a barrier stop? Is it that you can pretty much use the bag to balance the gun on target, versus driving the gun into the barrier? Is that 22 vs CF difference? I have barrier stops around my AR15 handguard and LEAN into the gun, but I’ve never shot with a bag.

At the end of that stage, the look he gives that kid with the Typhoid/Tuberculosis cough is classic…

It was definitely a fun match. Nice to step out of 30 degree Boise Idaho into 70 degree t-shirt weather Texas.

I have to confess, I got roughed up though. Started sticking cases and didn't know why. Had 27 unfired rounds, and a bone head stage where I didn't take the wind out of my turret.

All on me, live and learn.

Had a good stage here though on the 100/200 yard TYL, hit to move on.

Smart choice. I’ve just recently got into PRS March 2021. I did 2 matches that I was able to attend and while it’s a learning experience, it was also frustrating because my dope wasn’t on. So I wasn’t hitting much out past 100 yards. The free ballistic apps I tried were junk for 22lr. I eventually got a Kestrel to help with that. Also got a chrono. Those made a huge difference. Make sure you get a reliable ballistic calculator whether it’s a kestrel or a good Ballistic app. I’ve heard many like the Strelok app. I never tried it. The chrono is huge because Muzzle velocity changes quite a bit with temperature. I feel my gun is dialed in finally. I just need to get better at running stages and a solid hold on the gun and reading wind a bit better. But if your dope is off then it’s pointless and very discouraging . You know it’s bad when the spotters don’t even see your bullet impact anything. Lol. Good luck.
