Hunting & Fishing 208 amax and 300 win mag meat damage on elk?

I built a 300 for long range elk hunting that weighs 14 lbs. I have a load worked up with the 208 amax and am wondering if this is going to ruin a lot of meat. My previous elk gun is a m70 300 h&h with 180 sst around 3k. Fps. If you have killed elk or any big game animal with the 300 win mag and the 208 amax please enlighten me. Thank you gents and pictures are a plus. I could alway go with my 25-06 running 100 smk at 3559 fps.

Don't shoot them in the meat and you wont ruin any......

I shot a cow near La Barge a couple years ago with my 300wsm and 208gr A-max (muzzle velocity 2875) I hit her high in the shoulder at 517 yards and laid her flat. Meat damage wasn't terrible I did loose a little bit but I have lost meat the same shot with a 160gr Partition from my 280 Rem.

You'll be fine, it wont do any more damage than anything else. +1 on not shooting the meat, aim between the ribs.
