Re: 208 Amax's or 210 bergers in 308
Well I did up so loads andhere are the pics. It was a nice 1 degree celsius out and I was at 4450 ft above sea. There was really no wind until the end when the nice breeze from a storm that was coming hit me and slmost froze my hands off. I really didn't know where to start my loads at as I have never used this powder and there wasn't a lot of info. Started at 41.5 and worked up in 1.2 grain increments. Usually I would not go up like that, but being as I really don't know the window for loading this round I figured I would shoot them, see how they grouped and where I started to see pressure signs and work back from there. So I went from 41.5-44. For the first while I just thought I was having a bad day, but at the very end I fired my normal load of 175 bergers over 45.8g of varget. All were shot at 100m prone off a bipod with a bean bag at the rear. ALl 5 shot groups.

6th-like this load. Pulled the forth shot and was really pissed. Knew exactly what I did when I did it and was pissed cause I saw how the first three were grouping. Without the screwup by me the 4 rounds messured .266
Normal load 10 round group. 175 Bergers, 45.8g varget. First 5 were in that nice little mass. Then the cold wind started and well, I rushed and blew it out a little.
All in all it was a good trip. Cold weather made eht barrel cool quick. Had no signs of pressure at 44 grains so I am gonna keep moving up till I do and then back down and try and find a good load. Also need to borrow my buddies chrono so I know how fast these buggers are flying, but I like them so far. Oh and rifle is a Nesika KT action, 21.75 inch rock creek m40 barrel, AICS 2.0, with a NSX 5.5-22x56. Stay tuned. I will show more when I got it.
1 more pic of the entire target setup so every knows there wasn't and flying flyers.
