21" .308 or 20" 6.5 Creedmoor?

I've just built a .308 AR with a Noveske 21" .308 barrel. I've set it up specifically to shoot the Hornady 178gr Superformance rounds, so it has an Armalite rifle-length gas system, heavy buffer, and Tubbs flat-wire action spring.

I have the option of swapping in a Noveske 20" 6.5 Creedmoor barrel.

I don't plan to hunt with this rifle, but I'd like to punch paper out to 1200 yards (the max distance at my gun club).

Should I stick with the 21" .308 barrel, or go with the 20" Creedmoor barrel?

I know I can get better performance by going with an even longer barrel, but those two Noveskes are the options I'd appreciate limiting the discussion to.

Thank you very much.

Yep he would need to shoot 155 scenars and being a gas gun , velocity will be less than needed to get them to shoot good to 1200. Stick to the 6.5 and cross your fingers.

Looking forward to seeing the 6.5 range report.
