anybody using 210 berger VLD and RL22 for 300wm?
how much weight of powder to start with? i have difficulties to search the starting weight and maximum weight for 210gn bullets

Re: 210gn berger - 300wm

My charge was 71grns of RL22 in a winchester case with the 210 VLD. It's a stout load so if you start around 68 or 69 grns you should be fine.

What I did years ago when looking for a RL22 load with the 210s was look at the 220 SMK min and max and the 200 SMK and look at the min and max and then take the average of those and used that to work up.

Re: 210gn berger - 300wm

for the OAL is it possible to set it at 85.4mm ? that's over the maximum OAL in the reloading book since the 210VLD is longer than other bullets

Re: 210gn berger - 300wm

RL 22 or H4831SC both at 72 grains in AW 300 and GAP 300. 2950fps I swear you could drive nails with that load.

Unless my conversion is wrong 85.4mm is only 3.36". That's not very long at all. I was loading mine at about 3.540" or 89.9mm. As long as they will fit in the magazine and aren't jammed into the lands, I liked them about .010" off the lands, then you are fine. Just work up with your powder charge so you're safe.
