F T/R Competition 215 gn hybrid 308w

Re: 215 gn hybrid 308w

I've tried a variety of powders, a variety of seating depths, and spend quite a bit of time with them. I just couldn't get them working in actual match conditions. They seemed to work best in practice but would just beat you out of position in a match. I thnk my accurate velocity was around 2620 fps. Barrel was 34" Obermeyer with a 10 twist. I have gone back to my 185BT and started doing well again. If you want to try them, have at it.

Re: 215 gn hybrid 308w

We ran some of the early ones through a long-throated 12 F/TR last year using RE-17 and got some ridiculous velocities (~2800fps). Best accuracy seemed to be down around 2600-ish, but it wasn't my rifle so I didn't get to make that decision. Not sure if the owner has ever shot them in a match yet, though.

I believe there is at least one person shooting either the 215 or the 230 with some success down around the Phoenix area. Do a search over on accurateshooter.com for a guy going by 'sleepygator'.

Nope, Steve lives in San Diego...

Re: 215 gn hybrid 308w

I tried the 215 Hybrid's in my long throated 308 at about 2600 fps but found that I got better accuracy from the 210 VLD's so stayed with them. My 308 with 210's will run with the 6mmBr's. Steve
