.22 LR sub sonic velocity

Some rifles shoot a good deal faster/slower than others. Highly polished bores shoot fast. Longer barrels shoot slower but in my expirence have smaller SD’s. Top end Eley ammo has a velocity on each box. It is an indicator buy has not matched the actual velocities I measure in my rifles.

I will chrono my rig along with group testing to get an optimal load. I’m realy just wondering what velocity people recomend staying under to remain sub sonic. I am hearing around 1050, that makes sense. Do cans seem to effect the velocity on .22?

You really do not have much choice with a rim fire. All comes back to what shoots best in your rifle.
I suggest you find the most accurate load you can justify paying for and shoot it. It will be subsonic.
