Just started working on loads for a 223 AI. Barrel is Kreiger 1/6.5 twist. I want to use Breger 90gr VLD. I have a excellent load using Varget but was wondering if anybody has worked with any other powders, for this cartridge and bullet. Obveous reason is unavailability of Varget, but I'm also looking for more velocity. Current velocity is around 2700 fps.

I have found the 90's wear out the barrel very fast. I am using a 80 SMK with 25.0 grains of RE15 which comes out at about 2750+/- in an AR15 service rifle. Barrel is a 1-7 match from WOP.

That's what I shoot in mine. Lapua brass, 75gr Amax, 26.5grs re15, Rem 7.5's.
