Suppressors 223 can for precision AR

I need a lightweight thread-on 223 can. This is for a precision AR and bolt gun. Someone recommended a Gemtech Trek-TI. I was looking at a lower cost TI sentinel but some reviews said it was not too quiet. Full-auto rated is not necessary.

Can will be used during tactical matches so I would prefer something not too heavy or long...

What do you recommend?

Check out the Brevis by Delta P Designs, they have a "Normal" sized which is actually very compact and then they have a "Compact version.

I have used both versions of the 5.56, the .308 and I am waiting on my stamp for the 6.5.

HTG Silencers offers a 6" .223 suppressor named the Aris. It is a very good performer. The shorter version is 4.8" and is called the Eureka.

I won't comment on performance, but you can check it out.

We have two models of our BREVIS for this application.

a 5.5" and a 3.8"

Both have symmetric internal geometry and are applicable to your precision AR. They have great feedback from those using them in this application. For a precision AR I would recommend the shorter of the two cans unless you are going to SBR it.

Quietest I have personally heard is the SRT Arms Hurricane XL Ti. (outside my price range, but quiet and light, no doubt)

Ops Inc 12th model is heavy and long, plus it takes 2 proprietary attachment pieces AND a special cut on the barrel. No problem if you are running an SPR clone barrel, major changes if you are not.

The TBAC 223P-1 is hard to argue with for the 3 factors you named - size, weight, and above all, accuracy. No need for any muzzle and barrel attachments either - just screw it on your 1/2-28 standard AR muzzle threads.

If you want to play Marcus Luttrell and tumble down the side of boulder strewn scree fields with the Taliban shooting at you, by all means get the 12th Model. The two point mount will hold up to that.

Combined weight of the can and the mounts though is almost double that of the TBAC 223-P1.

Regarding durability, I am certain you'll break the rifle in half at the receiver before you damage the 223P-1 or the muzzle threads. I haven't tried it though...

Titanium vs Steel, there is going to be no comparison the titanium is going to be a way lighter suppressor. And I think people who get a 12th know what they are getting themselves into as most people who do get them are building a SPR of some type. There are plenty of SPR barrels on the market already contoured to fit. It's also a pretty damn good precision suppressor. Very little shift with mine and I have yet to hear a 223 suppressor that is any quieter then the 12th.

Now if I was building a bolt gun and wanted a good light precision can, I would probably get a TBAC 223P-1. I have no question that it will be a great performer just like my 30P-1. But I would probably use a 12th Model since I already have one.

liberty suppressors has one that claims its the quietest 223 can or your money back, so i compared it side by side on the same host with my SRT Hurrican XL TI, the Hurricane was close to an inch shorter, about 3-4 oz lighter and to my ears just as, if not quieter, I've run multiple 223 cans, G5, Phantom 556, Hurricane XL Ti, and in my findings the Hurricane had the least POI change and shrunk my groups on my "old" 22-250 from .5 to about .375 MOA @ 100yds. spendy but you get what you pay for.

I am very happy with my SRT Arms Ti Hurricane.

Not only is can performance important (weight, accuracy, dB reduction etc) but don't forget to factor in the manufacturers customer service. In this respect SRT kicked ass too.

It seems like there have been several companies that can't get the CS part right.

Those who do seem to enjoy good revenue.

I dont know how well DELTAP Cans work Never used one,But I know if anyone gets to know the owner you will be happy to see your money go to his products His customer service on other products is second to NON..ONE HELL OF A GUY !

Go with the TBAC. I'm bias. I'm a dealer, I have a large selection, for percision go with them. Lite, great customer service, all around great can. You will not regret it

TBA, You wana know how good they are? I spend alot of time in the summer exterminating prairie dogs with a precision AR and two different times coyotes came into the prairie dog towns while I was shooting at prairie dogs. Ya two different times a total of 3 coyotes. Wish I could say I got all 3 but only got 2 of them. My point is that they are Quiet!

My go to rilfe is dead nuts accurate and if anything it makes me shoot better, cuse the rifle shoots better with it on. They are very rugged and durable. I use the heck out of em.
For what I do and use it for I think the are great.

Gotta agree on this one. It mirrors my experience with the can. I'd also agree that it is on the heavy side. My first thoughts when I picked up my can were "this thing is a LOT heavier than I imagined". However, it has a very pleasant tone and is hearing safe. I still like to wear ear pro when shooting though, as often there are others around shooting without a can. My experience also shows about 1/2 MOA shift up and right. Very happy with my 12th model.
