.223 Load Data 68g SMK BTHP

Good Morning......

I am trying to get to locate some recipes for my .223 I would like to stay with the Varget powder as I use that for my .308 already. But I am open at this point, so I can find the best possible solution. This is what I have so far

Lapua Brass / SMK BTHP 68g / CCI Small Rifle Primers

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Have a look in the 'reloading depot' at the top of this forum,
Lots of load recipes in there,

I found a node about 25.0 gr varget for my freinds AR with the hornady 68bthp,
But that was with a 1/8 twist barrel, (loaded to mag length)
Using lap brass/cci br4's approx 2860fps.

Start about 24 grn and work up from there.

I load the 69gr SMK over 25.0gr of Varget with excellent results out of my SPS Tactical. This is a compressed load so don't let the crunch alarm you.

Works good with 69 Nosler cc as well.

69 gr SMK + 24.5 grains Varget yielded 2825 fps out of my Rem 700 tac and excellent accuracy at 100 yds. Haven't had an opportunity to take them further out.
