223 or 5.56 dies for 223 wild chamber

Gents,

I'm considering loading for a rifle chambered in 223 wild - stupid autocorrect won't let me spell it correctly. Should I go with .223 rem dies or 5.56 dies?

Also, considering a Harrel's powder dispenser because I'm too cheap for a dillon progressive. Any advice?

Just buy 223 Remington dies and get a Lee perfect powder measure

Ramshot xterminator and Hodgdon Benchmark are excellent powder for the 223 for 75 grain and lighter bullets.

I do not believe there are dies sold specifically for 5.56, or Wylde, only .223 Remington. However, there are some dies known as small base dies that sizes the base to minimum SAMMI specs, thus ensuring feeding and extraction. A Wylde chamber, for target shooting, is a compromise between .223 Rem (bolt) and 5.56mm NATO ((semi)-auto) chambers (throat/leade, etc.) for semi-autos. There is no harm buying SB dies other than working the brass maybe more than necessary. Also you will be able to use the ammo in more than one rifle. I assume you chose the Wylde chamber for target shooting. I recommend caution shooting 5.56 NATO ammo, especially Russian.
