I have a Browning 223 Varmint Target with a 26'' bbl 1-8 twist, I have been struggling to get it to shoot well, then tried IMR 8208XBR, it will shoot 1/4'' groups regularly with 69 smk. I am running out of that powder and picked up some Vihtavouri N135 powder, have not worked up any loads yet, but will next month when more time permits. Also any info on 69 gr up to 77 gr information Any suggestions, tips or information will be helpful, the advice and suggestions I've gotten in the past has always been helpful.

Thanks Jim

I use N135 with 52gr Berger’s in 223 and 168’s in 308 so you should be OK. It holds less than .4 MOA 5 shot groups in 223. Less than .4 MOA in 308 load development for 3 shots.

Only issue in 223 is case capacity. 25.5 gr fills to the neck.

V V N135 works quite well with 69 grain MatchKings. The 10-shot group pictured below was fired from a semi-automatic AR-15. The group has an extreme spread of 0.527 MOA.

My bbl is a 20'' Wilson hvy contour, .875 gas block 1-8 twist Wylde chamber. I'll be using this rifle also. What was your start and finish load for your AR. I always work up, your info will help. Thanks.

Start at 21.6 grains and work up. Accuracy nodes in my barrels tend to run in the area of 23.2 to 23.4 grains.
