But according to the blazer website they only have one type of 22lr ammunition

Re: .22LR Difference

How is that the case with this situation? 525 round pack is cheaper than the 500 round pack......

Re: .22LR Difference

500 round brick is 10, 50 round boxes in a larger box. 525 pack is one, large square box with 525 loose rounds thrown in. 500 pack requires a lot more packaging expense (materials, assembly, printing, packaging, etc). Product is the same, and 25 rounds costs probably 25-50 cents to produce, so the price to produce 525 versus 500 loaded rounds is a very small difference I'd imagine; the packaging is the difference here.

Re: .22LR Difference

I didnt click the links but stay away from the remington bulk packs. i think they are a terrible bulk 22 ammo. i like the Federal bulk packs though.

Re: .22LR Difference

It's not Remington. It's CCI blazer which I have had excellent luck with. That was all I shot before I got rifles that need match ammo. it was great in all my rugers and dedicated uppers.

But yes it has to do with packaging why the 525rd pack is cheaper then the brick of 500rds.

Re: .22LR Difference

I have found the CCI 500 round bricks packaged in 10 - 50 rounds boxes, shoot a LOT better than the 525 bulk pack. I shoot a lot of CCI products as they are local. The CCI standards and subs are my favorite but when my local store has the blazer in the 500 round bricks I snag a couple, they go fast.

Re: .22LR Difference

FYI, the 550 round boxes at Wally World are usually factory seconds. That generally means blemished bullets, but I've also heard some of them are loaded with bullets from dies that have reached the maximum allowable tolerances. I don't know if any of the 525 round boxes sold from other places are seconds.

I do know that quality rimfire ammo (Eley, Lapua, etc.) is not sold packaged loose. (I 'spect those little heeled-bullet cartridges getting banged around against each other doesn't do their concentricity any good.) For knocking around at the range, I guess bulk's fine, but for a couple bucks more, I find that the "brick" ammo's accuracy is substantially more consistent. That means that my trigger time is more constructive.
