243 Factory Twist Rates

Just throwing it out there before I purchase a rifle for the significant other. I'm looking for a factory 243 with the fastest available twist rate. My research is pointing toward the Ruger American with a 9 twist. I'm not interested in 6 creedmoor or other 6mm options, just boring ol' 243. Does anyone know if any manufacturers offer a faster twist rate?

The Ruger Precision Rifle came with a 1:8 26 inch barrel.

Now discontinued and may not be the best choice for your significant other. They can still be found.

I think they are just starting to trickle into the market but the new Barrett Fieldcraft lightweights show a 1-7" twist for the .243. I doubt any other factory rigs come close to that.

I have RPRs (1:7.7 twist) and a Predator (1:9 twist) in .243Win. The Ruger Hawkeyes are also 1:9 twist. Savage uses 1:9.25 and I think almost everyone else uses 1:10+

What projectiles are you using in the 9 twist?

65, 95 and 105s, more 95s than anything else, all are fine to 1K. I have not tried the 107s to 115s.

That's interesting about the 105s. I'm thinking of just sticking to the 95 grain Berger hunting projectiles for simplicity.

I have a carbon barreled 243 with a 1 in 9.8 twist and have shot a lot of 60 to 95 grain bullets out of it didn't like anything over the 95 grain mark but shot the 95 grain hornady sst really well used them in matches along with hunting, did very well on deer and the targets.
