I've got a Remington 700 .243, it looks exactly like the ADL they have listed on their website, but it was made in 2011. It doesn't have the twist rate marked anywhere on the barrel so I'm assuming it's a 9 twist based on what others have said, so correct me if I'm wrong. I was wondering what a really accurate load would be for this setup. I shot 100 grain Federal Power Shok rounds earlier today and was grouping at about 1 inch at 100 yards, but I know I can tighten that up with hand loads. I've only got about 300 yards of property to shoot on so that's about as far of a shot as I'll be taking.

Hunting load? Deer ?

The 95g nosler ballistic tips have done very well in the 2 243s I've loaded them for. Both were older rifles as well, unknown twist.

My buddy has taken probbaly about 25 deer with that combo over the years from 10 yards to about 250. Performed well with lung shots.

You can fairly easily determine twist rate with a cleaning rod and a patched brush.

I figured since deer season is over I'd just do a varmint load and worry about a deer load later on. I ordered the 75 grain vmax since I saw a lot of people praising it, so we'll see how that goes.

Guess I'll give this one a shot since everyone seems to love it. I don't wanna talk to my shit stain neighbors to fetch a deer that died on their property so as long as it drops quickly that's good enough for me
If you reload and 1:9tw Berger 95 VLD Hunter can be pushed 3200+ w/ RL22.

Yeah I've heard the .243 doesn't do too good at range with the shorter bullets.
I have an 8 twist which will handle everything except 115's. 75's are the lightest i shoot. Mainly 90gr fmj's for varmints. Don't go looking for any as Sierra discontinued them. No thoughts on the 90 and 103 edl-x's yet. Good thing you have a 9 twist instead of an 10 as that'll help shoot something heavier than flat-based varmint loads.
