243 Win. Loads

I am looking for some advice on loads for my new 243 Win. I would like to shoot 105s, maybe 115 if my 8 twist will stabilize that bullet. Figuring on probably shooting the 105 VLDs. Any reloading experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

When I had my 243 win, this was my load.

26" barrel
105 VLD hunting
Winchester brass
cci -200 primer
H1000 @ 47.5grs. above listed max.
( also 46grs works well too)
2995 fps avg

Same load out of same barrel cut to 21"
2880 avg fps.

About 40 grains of H4350 is a good place to start. I know some guys getting good results with 4831SC as well.

I tried several powders and H4350 shot the best groups

I loaded both H-1000 and IMR 7828ssc with Hor 105 bthp's. Both are sub minute loads, both are at 3050fps roughly. Never reached pressure signs with either powder, ran out of case capacity first.

Mine shoots 4350, 4831SC and RL-22 about equally well with the bullet weights you listed. 4350 has been a favorite for the 243 for a long time and still works well. Velocity is between 2950 and 3000 with the 105 and 107's. Lightman

Dope to 675 claims 2950ish from a 22" barrel if hornadys numbers are right. Under half moa out to 675 as well on a calm day obviously.
