With my newest PRS style build I was going back and forth on 6xc and 6bra but the more Im looking at the new 25 cal offerings and bullets I'm trying to find a reason not to go that route. I know of many guys shooting a 25 Creed but I haven't found anyone using the XC case. Is there a 25xc? Other than the 25 Creed what other 25 cal options are out there that can send a 100-110gr 25 cal 2950-3150fps?

Keep in mind when considering any of these 6mm/.25/6.5mm cartridges you are just splitting hairs. Each of them have specific benefits and trade-offs. This does not exclude any of the .25 cal offerings.

One thing is for certain though: picking one cartridge vs. another won’t magically make you hit targets that you wouldn’t otherwise hit. At some point you just have to run what ya brung because next month there’s going to be something newer and better out and all of this angst about what you should build will have been for naught.

Just remember, the gear can only do so much to cover up your deficiencies as a shooter (not you specifically, OP, just in general).

I am building a new gun and 25 creedmoor is tempting just to be “That Guy” at the match lol
I'd say a quarter of the guys I shoot with are shooting something different than the mainstream guys, quite a few shoot stuff that doesn't even have a name. I don't really care to be that guy but when I plugged in what those 131 blackjacks can do when shot 3k fps I immediately wanted to look at what my options where. Very very attractive. With a 10mph wind that's about half a mil at 1k yards compared to a 6bra. Might not seem like much but that closes up my min-max wind hold.

I definitely agree with you. I've ran a .260rem in my first rifle and I put another .260 barrel on the trued up Remington action after that. I've since bought a kelbly black bear action and am looking at what I want to run moving forward. .260 will be a trainer.

Gear can't make a shooter a shooter but id sure choose a hot little 6mm over a 308.

I think the Bra/dasher is a better choice
1 there are a slew of bullets to try Incase your chosen bullet just doesn’t perform in your barrel.
2. Less recoil , less is more in this case.
3. Likely more accurate.
The wind difference is .2 at best my calculator shows .1 or 3” and does not even buy you 1 mph of error, 11 mph the hold increases 6” for both
That is a Sierra 110 at 2900
And the Blackjack at 3000
I also considered it but after these thoughts I’m sticking to my dasher

The bullet selection is really holding me back, knowing my luck, I would get the one barrel that wouldn’t like those 130 ace bullets. If that’s the case, then you are pretty well sunk. If there were 2 or 3 bullet options I would have probably ordered a barrel & reamer by now!
