I’ve got to take my 25 creedmoor out to distance twice since running a ladder test and the results are stupid awesome.

First range trip zeroed a load i picked from the middle of a good velocity node at 3005fps. Went to range that goes out to 2k. Wind was right to left about 3mph which was perfect to true in. Started with truing and entered info in kestrel. It spit out 1500 yds running a .350 g7. Dialed 12.7 mils and sent 2 rounds. Both stacked perfectly within about a 2” spot.

After that dialed to 1600 and went 2 for 3 with the 3rd i held to much wind. This bullet bucks wind amazingly. Dialed to a mile and hit it on 3rd shot, missed 4th and hit on 5th. Decided to try 2k next. Dialed 22 mils and connected on 4th shot. Only ended up holding 1 mil of wind at 2k. Buddy had his 264 wm pushing 140s at 3300 and the 25cm was within 2-3 mils of it in drop. Buddy got on the gun and went 2 for 2 at a mile and connected on 3rd shot at 2k.

Yesterday went out to the range for a few hours so another buddy could shoot the 25cm. Wind was left to right at about 3mph, another rare and perfect day at triple c range. Buddy had a brand new 6.5 prc with a 28” barrel shooting factory 147s and a random load that shot the 147s around 2910. At 1200 the 25 had .3 less drop than the 6.5 prc. At a mile the 25 connected on the 2nd and 3rd shots. The prc hit on the 5th. At a mile the 25 was .3 less drop again and seemed to need less wind hold only needing 1mil to hit. I will say the prc was still being broke in and we never really trued up the data beforehand. Based on performance between the 2 it’s amazing what the 25cm can do being a regular short action cartridge vs a short mag. This is definitely my new cartridge of choice. The results are incredible and blackjack bullets hit a home run with this bullet and it’s changed the game.

Your most likely gonna end up slowing that down some. Myself and 2 others found nodes with h4350 at 3010 and ended up slowing down yo 2950 after developing pressure signs 100 or so rounds in

Very cool rifle and these 25 Creeds run long range so well without the recoil of bigger cartridges. Really takes off where the 6mms get squishy around 1100 yards and beating out any 6.5 bullet fired from the same parent case in Wind, Energy, and Drop doesn't hurt either.

Makes my day to see guys stretching the 131 ACE out in the field.

What barrel blanks did you start with?

These X-Cals seem to run fast. My 26" X-Cal 25 Creed runs 3040 but I completely understand from seeing the results that most of the cut blanks haven't been able to do more than the 2970 node on the usual.

I'm fire forming my .25cm virgin alpha brass now. Using 120 speer shit so I dont eat up my 131s. The virgin shoulders are bumped about .010 so its eating up velocity. Cant wait to get this brass FF'd so I can push these bad boys.

That's some good shooting, no matter the cartridge. I could only imagine what these bullets would do being pushed from a PRC or SAUM case.

They almost win Q Creek ELR matches out of 25 SAUM cases lol. 2nd in Open Division to a 338 EnABler and 300 OTMs. Still ahead of 196 other shooters and much larger cases and bullets.

No one has shot out a barrel yet to my knowledge. This is a bad question in general. There are way too many variables. Are you shooting responsibly with a cut rifled barrel or shooting 30 round strings on a button rifled barrel. Where does your powder heat the barrel?
1500-3000 depending on what you do.

I’ve taken mine to 1 mile easily. It’s one hell of a bullet.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad question, more so an unanswerable one at this time. I’m hoping for 2k. I shoot prs and general long range

Guys there are so many variables in the equation of barrel life. Only you know how your barrel will be used (or maybe not with a surprise unlimited round count mover with 2.5 min time limit). Generally speaking you will get a great increase in life compared to a 6mm version of the same cartridge and a little less that the 6.5 variant. The .257 is 2/3 the way from 6mm to 6.5 in bore capacity hince why it would be closer to the 6.5 in life than the 6mm.

Perfectly said. I’m coming from 6mm so I’m happy with anything over that. Barrels are consumable.

They are consumable, yet still not a fun thing to have to buy/chamber/load develop every 1000 rounds. Which was a driving factor in the creation of the 131's we wanted great ballistics, moderate recoil, high energy on target and an increase in barrel life over the 6mm's that are/were so popular.

Did I miss the projectiles weight you used?
