25 Creedmoor Large or Small primers?

Depending on how far down this rabbit hole you go, you will want experience with both.

I see you live in WY, where the temps can go pretty cold and summers are hot. If you ever play with alternate powders, it is good to also have a variety of brass/primers. For example, when some serious competitors first started to run SRP in Palma, that topic was rare and debated. It took a high performance level to say there was a difference, one that most folks won't understand.

If you run both ball and extruded powders in cases like your CM, then you are in that overlap zone where there can be advantages to both. If all you do is run the best extruded powders, you can get away with SRP and no regrets.

I've been using Alpha SRP brass, and H4350 on my 25CM and I haven't been able to get either the 133 Elite Hunters or 134 ELDs to shoot better than .75-1.0" groups at 100. I just loaded up some Hornady LRP brass to try out of curiosity. I don't have the much time to tinker as much so I might just throw a tuner in it and see if I can get it down.

Same from Proof CF 18” barrel. It’s a gasser so I’m ok with 3/4 MOA. These are 10 shot groups. 3-5 are under 1/2 MOA but usually don’t give much merit to that.

While I cant say I have made a direct comparison between between small and large primers in 25 creed I
have used mostly small primers (CCI450) shooting many 25, 6.5 and 6mm creed using R17, H4350 and H4831 powders
in temps from 25F to 90F without any ignition issues.

If I was going on a hunt in cold weather I would use large primers simply because missing a steel plate
is one thing and missing or wounding game is something else.

I have not had time to test yet. Super busy at work. The Hornady podcast has a reloading episode and Miles talks a little about using small rifle primers when in the high 30's to 40 grain range. Not going to attempt to even discuss that but I know it's been a discussion before.
