Had to adjust a lot for changing winds but I got some good notes on wind calls today.

1791 yards at a 24”x24” plate.

Letting barrel cool a bit

Plate took a beating.

Made my last trip to that spot before archery elk started.

I really enjoy shooting at that distance.
It can be frustrating but hitting the plate three times in a row is pretty damn rewarding.
I actually made a headshot on the casual dude target my buddy’s brought.

I agree that there is a specific thrill with calling and connecting at these distances. I haven’t shot ELR in over a year now. Primarily due to lack of convenient and affordable locations to do so down here.

I’m pretty lucky.
By far it’s my favorite kind of shooting.
Right now it’s archery elk there so I’m giving them a break.

I have another couple of spots in eastern Oregon that I can go to but I’m waiting for my 7SAUM barrel first.

Should be ready really soon.

That’s some damn fine shooting right there, the furthest I ever took my 260 was 1225 with really great success, it is such a fine caliber.
