Re: .260 Eats Crow

Some just don't know what a crow has left under all the feathers, takes an accurate rifle, and a good shooter.

Kudos - a LONG crow shot/kill......very nicely done!

I get down your way often while I am working. I have an office in Castle Hayne. I lived in Brubswick County for alot of years but there is no place like the Blue Ridge I like to call home.

Re: .260 Eats Crow

I haven't looked back, the CBI barrel shoots lights out!!!
I am well pleased with it and it has proved very consistant and will eat just about anything.

Re: .260 Eats Crow

Very nice shot!! I love my .260 with those 140 AMAX's. Had I known what I know now, when I started with the .308, I wouldv'e started with the .260. Although, living with the .308 for soo long.....really makes you love the 6.5mm that much more!!

Re: .260 Eats Crow

Thanks guys!! The crow was on the ground. went back yesterday evening and shot paper at the same distance with alot less wind and shot sub-moa groups. This property was a lucky find. I have been asking around for a year on a place to shoot a 1000 and lucked up and got this place five minutes from the house. I didn't know the property existed, it is hidden from view by a ridge visible from the road. After the farmer plants corn I should be able to still get around 700.
I still enjoy my .308 but the .260 is an outstanding round to say the least. 140 Amax's have been my pick from the beginning but powders was my quirk,I finally tried H4831SC and played with OAL and groups went from great to outstanding! Only drawback I have found with the H4831SC is when shooting through my chrono the first couple of shots vary on the high side but from shots 3 to 5 the speeds duplicate and this sometimes shows in my groups at closer ranges.
I am not familiar with L-W barrels but the CDI has been an awesome piece of steel and I received it within two weeks from Jim at NSS. Based on my experience I would recommend the barrel to anyone. I have a Hart on a 22/250 and have owned a few other custom barreled guns and the holes in the paper prove to me that CBI can hang with any I have shot.
