I've always handloaded but for kicks I decided to buy factory ammo. Can't afford some brands so thought I'd try Hornady. Has anyone else tried it and if so, how did it shoot for you? And yeah, I did see the thread about bad Hornady ammo. Thanks.

I bought some Hornady to use on a new rifle. Once sighted in I shot some of my best groups.
Semi auto .260.
I'll reload for it soon.

It shot .75 in my Tikka T3 TSR-1. Velocity was pretty low though. I think it was around 2600 fps in my 20 inch barrel. Accuracy out to 500 was good.

Has good short range accuracy anyways. I just got some and I only got to shoot at 100 yards. Hopefully it will group as well at long range. I'll try to follow up when I get to stretch it and chrono it

remage with 28" criterion barrel-260 rem match in a McM a5 w/ a 30 p1 suppressor

ps the Federal 142 MK load shot a slightly larger group (could be some shooter error) but also looks pretty good also

I have been extremely pleased with my rifles and Hornady ammo.
My GAP-10 shoots 140 ELD very consistently into sub .75 5 shot groups. Super consistent ammo imho.
my A.I. AT is dialed in for 147 ELD. I have many groups at .5-.55. Not cherry picked groups either. The gun ammo combo will flat shoot the 147's. If the groups is over .6, I did something wrong.

I know now I could tighten the guns up with handloads. I just factor in my time and my energy. It takes me several hours to load up 50 rounds. For ME, I would rather just buy ammo and spend my time shooting.

I know different folks have have different opinions on this, but I would rather spend my time shooting the gun at .55" groups than spend hours agonizing over loading ammo to shoot .3 groups.

Thats just my opinion, and others will disagree.
Hornady ELD-M have been fantastic for me.
