Looking for accurate loads to use in an R77V with H-4350, or possibly H-4831SC. I'm guessing a 24" barrel. Right now I've got Nosler 120gr ballistic Tips available.

I have had best luck with the 139 bullets in the 280. Seems that weight fits it very well.
I use 58.5 of 4831SC and am getting 2960 fps at 4600 asl.
Very accurate load and great hunting round.

I have standardized on a Hornady Custom factory 139gr SST load with a nominal 3000fps MV as a hunting load. Although not yet blooded, it's very accurate at 100yd, and the SST bullet seems to have a good rep.
I'm interested in the 120NBT because that's what I had started testing with Ramshot Hunter before the HDY load simply wow'ed me.
Now that you've provided a 139gr load, I'll use that as an alternative ballpark development starting point. Much thanks for your assistance.
The rifle is an inherited heirloom, one of a pair of Ruger R77's which came along complete with dies and brass (Win nickeled primed cases). The other one's a more conventional 22" sporter/hunter. Both are MK I's in very nice shape.

kinda the same thing here Greg.. inherited a M77 and developed a good load for it. Same bullet, the 139SST. Incredible on deer and elk !
like the rifle, great carry weight and very accurate for a hunting rifle.

Have you guys ever messed with the 168 or 162s in the 280? I've been kicking around a 280 build for quite some time....
