Photos 3/8" Pipe plug on my AR-50

Re: 3/8" Pipe plug on my AR-50

The shoe will make a world of difference. If you haven't already updated the trigger it's an easy job to just adjust it down.

Re: 3/8" Pipe plug on my AR-50

I had adjusted it to have no creep and about 3lb pull, but the trigger was way to narrow with a sharp edge. The length of pull from the grip to the trigger was short for me also this solves all problems. With the use of a hack saw, file and a sanding drum on the drill press, I was happy with the result.

The mono pod is a 3/8" coupling nut screwed/epoxied to a plate of aluminum, filled and contoured will epoxy paste. The rod is a piece of all-thread with a keg pump knob on it. All in all it is very stable, user friendly and adjusts well.

Re: 3/8" Pipe plug on my AR-50

Very cool. I made a trigger shoe for a "long range" AR a few years ago out of an old 1911 trigger. I cut the bow off and ground the old trigger to fit the face of the AR trigger. It worked great. I've got a couple of friends who have done some pretty cool mods to their AR50s. Widened fore ends for bench shooting, hinged cheekpieces that ride over the bolt when it's opened, etc.
