3 lug bolts v.s. 2 lug bolts

I own both a Rem. 700 long action rifle and a Browning A-Bolt long action. I much prefer the Browning's 3 lug bolt for its faster cycling.

It seems 2 lug bolts are becoming scarcer. Ruger's American rifle, Sako, AI, and several others have gone to 3 lug bolts.
I think Paul Mauser would have made a 3 lug bolt in the 1800s had he thought of it.

Any prferences on this topic?

I built 2 varmint rifles on the Bat 3 lug action and like them well. Have had no experiance with any others. I hear the Banard actions are sweet and thinking of building a rifle off 1 of those sometime in the future. The people i know of that have them love them and their triggers are supposed to be top notch also.
