Not sure I understand, So whats the difference between the two and what would work best on a AR pistol in 300 AAC

The 6 MOA dot is twice as large in diameter as the 3 MOA dot. Which is better for you will depend on you intended use and the type of sight selected.

Shooting close and fast get the 6, if you need to be a bit more precise then the 3. The 3 will be twice as difficult to acquire quickly, the 6 will be twice as hard to aim small with at distance.
Since this is a 300 I don’t think you can go wrong with either, if this was a handgun I would say go 6. If you’re running a brace go 3.
