I am embarrassed to be posting this, and can't even find the right topic to put it under.

Thought I was mostly prepared, and guess I am, but neglected to stock any ammo for the old lever action Winchester 30-30. It's an old deer hunting weapon passed down through the family, will always keep it, and it FINALLY hit me that I should have more than 30 rounds for it, too, seeing as a quick trip to the gun store doesn't cut it anymore.

Don't want to reload for it since I use it so rarely, and since I peeked and supplies for 30-30 seem impossible to find, too.

Wanting to find about 100-150 rounds for it is all, a meager little stock to keep with, it just in case.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND SOME? Have visited all the local stores and spend 4-5 hours looking on the net.

Would certainly appreciate any link to a reliable supplier!!!

Thanks much!

A year in and people are still surprised by lack of inventory.

OP, just be diligent, no one has ammo sitting on the shelf so even if you have someone tell you XZY has it, it'll be gone. The sooner people stop paying GB prices, the sooner it will stay on the shelf for more than minutes.

For those prices you need to start reloading.

I should state that I feel your pain as I just purchased a lever action in 357 and I am currently looking at reloading equipment, but I ordered some ammo just to shoot it when it show up on Thursday.

My vote is weather the storm.
Ammo will trickle back into stock.

30-30 doesn’t have the market of others (say 6.5creed) if you wait 6 months, you will land some.
Pretty set with 6.5, at least for reloading supplies. It's my main toy for target shooting.

When 30-30 is readily available again, I won't feel the need, cough cough.

But you can bet your butt I'll stock up. Good ole Just In Case.

Thanks

I can't find the ammo MUCH LESS the reloading supplies......bullets, powder, primers......didn't even bother looking for dyes.

Not in the least surprised, I noticed a long time back things were tightening up, and then it became insanely tight.

I THANK OBAMA EVERYDAY for getting me prepared.........except perhaps for those 30-30s.

But I will admit I AM surprised by the shortages in virtually EVERY aspect of shooting.......ammo, bullets, powder, PRIMERS, and much of the hardware and furniture. And I did NOT expect to have so much trouble finding an older more out of use caliber like the 30-30. Live and learn. It won't hurt my readiness but I hate to think Granddad's rifle can't get in the fray.......
