I just finished our newest creation this morning and wanted to share this with all of you guys on the forum.
Preliminary with Adams Arms piston kit testing positive with both noveske KX3 flaming pig and Gemtech suppressor; as testing continues I will keep you informed on results.

What are you getting at - a KX3 is a flash suppressor which also may direct some sound forward and also adds some back pressure. It is like the AK flash suppressor - and an AK is a piston gun.

On a short barreled DI AR, the KX3 is used first and foremost to enhance reliability by increasing backpressure and possibly dwell time. Others have shown that it can decrease reliability in an 8" piston AR (in 5.56 at least). I was only asking what this builder's motivation was since there are other ways to reduce muzzle flash, such as a Vortex or Blackout, without adding a brick to the muzzle. If the concern is muzzle blast, he has a suppressor for that. But thanks for responding for the O.P.

Nice looking rig. What Gemtech are you running? Are you seeing any issues with the gas piston system running subsonic loads?

I think a piston gun with a short barrel also benefits from more dwell time as they are both gas operated.
