new to the community built the gun a month ago.
-took an old savge 243 ( stagger feed )that i got at a pawn shop and stripped it changed the bolt face to 223
-threaded and chambered a douglas xx 1-10 twist heavy barrel to 300 blackout with pacific tool and guage reamer
-got a bell and carelson medalist stock dropped it in and installed a single shot sled
-egw 20 moa rail with
-weaver rings and a leupold vx1 scope
the point of this post is to find out if any one has used a bottom metal conversion with the accuracy international magazines with the 300 blackout. I have read that the 223 mags are the same external dimensions as the 308 mags. is this a fools errand or will this work? right now the gun is a single shot and shooting well averaging( 10 ) 1\2 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards off bi pod and bags. thnaks for your time and information in this matter
