Back when we had a 1200 yard range that was supposed to go to 2000 yds, I wanted a little more horsepower than my 6.5, and tried to build the perfect 1 mile to 2000yd rifle for the 250 A Tip / 245 EOL. I’ve taken enough beatings behind ultralight 300s that I went in the opposite direction.
Unfortunately the range I built this rifle for closed, and all our local ranges are 800 or less. If you want to know why I’m selling it, here’s last week. Took the rifle out of the bag, dialed 2.1 mils elevation to get to the farthest plate at 500, called the wind (.2), hit the dead center of the plate, put the gun away because I had nothing left to do.
I’ve put about 300 rounds total through this rifle between load development and plinking. Recoil is very mild, due to the weight. Hot loads with Hornady 250s are like an average shot out of a 30-06.
This gun belongs out west - or at least somewhere with a mile plus of access. Shoots factory Hornady ammo accurately, loves 200.20xs over RE26 and 245 EOL over N570. The 1-8 twist was a special order from Bartlein and it’ll spin the heaviest bullets you can push in a PRC.
Build sheet is as follows:
LRI fully built LH 700 (trued, m16 extractor, dual ejectors, welded bolt handle, side bolt release xl feeding cut, threaded bolt knob).
Area 419 scope rail (20moa)
Manners Elite Tac PRS2
Mini chassis
3.850 CIP magazine (magazine included)
Black Forest
Adjustable spacer length
Adjustable cheek piece
X-heavy fill with lead added
Flush cups
Atlas bipod rail
Bartlein 26” M40 1-8 twist 400 MOD steel (supposed to improve barrel life to 1700-2000 rounds).
Triggertech Diamond
Dead air Keymo brake
Scope available separately, bipod not included.
