In the market for a 300 PRC, which will be my first 300 magnum rifle.
I've always bought factory rifles before, even if I have messed with them afterwards. Nearest rifles I already own to the 300 PRC are a factory Remington 700 308 when I put in a KRG Bravo stock and a Tikka TACA1 6.5 Creedmoor, still in the Tikka chassis.
Several people have recommended I get a semi-custom or custom 300 PRC.
These start about double the cost of a factory rifle. The factory rifles I'm thinking of are a Howa 1500 in a chassis, or a Bergara B14, either in the Bergara HMR stock or in a MDT ACC chassis.
Is there any reason not to get one of those factory rifles?
Usage will be 1000m - 2000m target shooting.
