300 RUM EPR Experiment

I'm a newbie to reloading, so please speak as though to a golden retriever.

I'm contemplating pulling some M80A1 EPR bullets, and setting them in a 300 RUM. The goal being to create a load with enhanced armor defeating capabilities.

Thoughts?

300 RUM was not designed or intended to be fired from a pistol, nor is there any handgun that fires 300 RUM, as far as I'm aware.

But .308 is fired from "pistols", yet actual black tip armor piercing ammunition is still sold, albeit on the secondary market. So I'm not grasping how it wouldn't apply there, but apply here....

Years ago, I saw some blacktip loaded in 300rum. Zipped right through 1/2" ar500 no problem. It would have been cool to have multiple plates to see just how far it would go though.
