Hey Fellas I am new to snipershide and have not posted anything before. I am currently building a custom rifle. I'm building a light weight tactical style rifle. I'm using a Manners T4 with 90% carbon fiber, Custom Defiance Machine action, Rock Creek ABS carbon fiber wrapped barrel, Seekins Bottom metal. Anyway I am wanting to get a suppressor for it and I need some advice. I do not have much experience with them so I need some advice. The gun is chambered in 300 Rem Ultra Mag. Does anyone know of a good suppressor that can handle a ultra mag. I was hoping to find one for about $1000. I am planning on having the muzzlebreak threaded so I can take it off and use a suppressor when wanted. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks

Re: 300 RUM Suppressor??

Are you looking at threading the Brake or the barrel? That will make a difference in choices. $1000 is on the low side for a can capable of handling the 300RUM. Any suppressor in the 300 win mag and up range should be suitable. Depending on what you have in mind for shooting style and such, you may not be able to find anything in your price range. An all steel suppressor might come down to your price point but it will likely be heavy. If you can live with that you might be fine. I've got a suppressor on my .338 Lapua Desert Tactical SRS rifle which is all steel, a bit heavy and works very very well. The rifle is heavy to start with at 15lb with the nightforce 5.5X22X56 scope and the harris bipod. The can is 48oz so the all up weight is 18lb but its always fired off the bipod and I'm not stalking bunnies with it. Once you decide on whether or not you're going to be wandering the rockies out west or shooting off a bipod/bench it will clarify your choices.

Hope that helps some.

Frank

Yep, my Thundertrap (.30 cal. version) works very well on my .300RUM. I spoke with AWC before trying it on it and Chris assured me it was GTG on the RUM. I can attest to the fact. It handles it fine and sound super.

This. Get ahold of SAS and see if it'll work. I suspect if you're running 28" or longer it will work. They sound GREAT and are less than $800 for Titanium !!

You can get the can that will mount to a muzzle brake which will act as a replacable blast baffle. Hard to beat one of these cans!!!

Re: 300 RUM Suppressor??

I would like to find out about this also. I just sent in paperwork for my first can, a yhm for my .22s. I wanted to order an SAS arbitor at the same time but my dealer can't get in touch with the manufacturer. I also tried and can't get ahold of them. I would want to use mine for both my 300rum and my 308 if possible. Anybody know a better way or time to get ahold of SAS? When I called, they had a messege that said they would call back at the end of the day. Called a couple of days in a row, no luck.

Re: 300 RUM Suppressor??

My T1000 magnum series can are capable of suppressing the 300RUM quite well. I make it in a stainless version as well as Ti. The stainless version comes in right at 850.00. Ti will set you back more. Difference bring weight. If interested pm me I can provide you all the details you need.
